Beginning Machine QuiltingThis is the class for the beginning machine quilter. Here you will learn and practice the basic steps of machine quilting on your own domestic sit down sewing machine. We will start with the basics of straight line quilting using your walking foot with a discussion on tension and some of the different tools available to get you comfortable with machine quilting. We will then move on to free motion machine quilting and learn some of the basic designs. We will discuss things such as posture and how to handle the quilt while quilting to make your quilting sessions as long and as enjoyable as possible. This class is two full day sessions suitable for a retreat or can be done in four half day or evening classes. A sewing machine in good working order and a walking and free motion foot is required for this class. |
